JUMP´N RUN
Go Straight into an Apprenticeship—Even Without a High School Diploma
JUMP ‘N RUN
Pilot Project to Directly Place Young People Without a High School Diploma in Apprenticeships in the Ruhr Region
Worum geht es und welche Ziele hat das Projekt?
Going straight into an apprenticeship without a high school diploma? It’s possible!
The JUMP’N RUN pilot project supports teenagers and young adults without a high school diploma in making a direct transition into a dual vocational training program. Rather than focusing on making up missed credentials, the program emphasizes hands-on experience, playful elements, and close guidance. Participants discover their strengths, gain direction through experiential learning activities, and receive individualized support through one-on-one coaching. Participants can prove themselves in practical settings at partner companies that offer internships with real prospects for an apprenticeship. Success is further ensured through needs-based apprenticeship support. The goal is a sustainable placement rate of at least 50 percent. The project is funded by the Mercator Foundation through March 31, 2028, and is already laying the groundwork for long-term sustainability during the project period through the involvement of various stakeholders from public sector organizations.
This project is funded by the Mercator Foundation.
