Who are we?
About us » Introduction
The fight against youth unemployment and the opportunity to make a difference in society is close to the hearts of all JOBLINGE employees. This is why we give everything for our participants.
Since 2008, we have been proving how scalable, measurable, transparent and sustainable work in the transition system works. With a strong network in the industry, rooted in the region through non-profit stock corporations. “Placement” is JOBLINGE’s core business.
More than 37,000 young people have already participated in our program. In the core program, about 80 percent of the annual participants make the transition into the workforce with our support—often after years of unemployment and a lack of prospects. During the JOBLINGE program, which lasts a maximum of six months, participants learn important social and job skills through group projects and gain insight into their own strengths and suitable careers before gaining practical experience at JOBLINGE partner companies.
At our more than 30 locations throughout Germany, we receive support from nearly 300 colleagues, 2,700 volunteer mentors nationwide, and 4,000 partner companies. The locations are run by nonprofit stock corporations (gAGs), each led by a managing director. Strategic work is carried out by the umbrella organization. The leadership team consists of the managing directors of the gAGs and the management team of the umbrella organization.
JOBLINGE was initiated by the Boston Consulting Group and the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation of BMW AG (now the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt) to solve a specific problem: To tackle the skills gap identified back in 2008 with business expertise and entrepreneurial self-image and to prove that social work can be highly effective and successful with the appropriate complementary tools. Our first study “Young people on standby” underpins our expertise and provides an insight into what prevents young people from taking the step into training. Click here for the study.
Our work is based on three pillars: engagement through PLAN A, job placement through our JOBLINGE program, and support through our basecamps.
PLAN A and activation means that we approach young people directly in the street and with social media campaigns, the JOBLINGE program includes preparation and placement into apprenticeships, and we support young adults during their apprenticeship in our basecamps. This means that they can learn additional skills and exchange ideas with other trainees, alumni or company representatives.
Together, the pillars complement and complete each other and form the ideal support for young people on their way into training. None of this would be possible without our strong partners in the public sector, thousands of voluntary supporters and multipliers and our close network in the industry.
The skills gap is there, the shortage of skilled workers is acute depending on the industry, and commercial enterprises are therefore breaking new ground with us in the acquisition of future skilled workers.
The placement and retention rates reported annually in the JOBLINGE Annual Report are the two most important key performance indicators of the JOBLINGE initiative. They represent every single young person who has firmly established themselves in the workforce and in society, and demonstrate the above-average effectiveness of the JOBLINGE concept.
Nationwide for the 2024–2025 training year

Quotes
This is where we create a social kick by taking care of people who may not yet be on the desired path.
Before JOBLINGE, I didn't have a goal. I didn't know: What do I want? What am I going to do with my life? But now I have my goal, and I'll do everything I can to achieve it.
