Youth unemployment and a lack of equal opportunity are not merely social problems. The shortage of skilled workers is a tangible economic problem—one that can be solved by creating a workplace that offers equal opportunities, and one we work to address every day.

We are committed to equal opportunity and supporting young people. In a world characterized by diversity and varied life paths, we at JOBLINGE strive to build bridges and support young people on their journey.

Approximately 60% of our operations are funded by the government, and 40% by donations.

Not all program components are publicly funded. However, these components are essential for properly preparing young people for vocational training, and this is reflected in our placement rate.

How can I support JOBLINGE?

From one-time donations to regular contributions to targeted support for individual projects: There are many ways to support JOBLINGE’s work through a donation.

Will I receive a donation receipt for my donation?

For your donation—provided you have provided your full address—you will automatically receive a donation receipt. It may take up to eight weeks to issue a donation receipt. Regular donors receive a consolidated donation receipt for all donations made at the beginning of each new year, covering the previous year.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Donations to JOBLINGE or its regional offices can be claimed as a special deduction on your taxes, as our organization and our individual gAGs in the regions meet the requirements of Section 10(b) of the Income Tax Act (EStG). This means that they serve tax-privileged purposes within the meaning of the German Tax Code (Abgabenordnung) and, according to the rulings of the competent tax offices, are exempt from corporate income tax under § 5 (1) No. 9 of the German Corporate Income Tax Act (KStG).

How safe is it to donate online?

The protection of your data is very important to us. For this reason, all data is transmitted via an encrypted SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Internet connection. It is never shared with third parties.

What does the Phineo seal stand for?

In April 2017, JOBLINGE was awarded the PHINEO Wirkt seal, one of the most important accolades recognizing the effectiveness and transparency of nonprofit organizations in Germany. The evaluation process conducted by the independent research firm PHINEO is based on a comprehensive, one-and-a-half-year assessment—and the result is that this donation seal attests to the particularly effective work of the JOBLINGE initiative in providing young people with sustainable support as they enter the workforce.

Outcome First Apprenticeship Fund

Our clear goal in job placement is to get participants into training programs as quickly as possible.

The JOBLINGE program is designed to last six months. However, if we successfully place a participant after three or four months, we lose money because government funding stops on the day of placement. Paradoxically, our successful work now requires us to close the resulting financial gap.

In collaboration with The Human Safety Net, Generali’s foundation, we worked on a solution to this problem. The Human Safety Net has made supporting young people with refugee backgrounds a key focus of its work—a target group that JOBLINGE also supports. Together, we launched the Outcome First Apprenticeship Fund (OFAF) was launched in 2023. The goal of the OFAF is to help refugees gain better access to vocational training and, through that, to opportunities for advancement and a secure livelihood. For every successful placement, the locations receive a performance-based bonus that covers a portion of the program costs not funded by public funds. In the first three years, over 700 young people with refugee backgrounds were supported.

To further increase the number of participants and help more young people with refugee backgrounds find apprenticeships, we are looking for additional grant recipients. Please feel free to contact us.

The Impact Fund

The Impact Fund is the key financing instrument for driving systemic change in the support structures at the transition from school to work.

It serves as a blueprint for impact-based financing: The fund pools resources that are disbursed only when impact is demonstrated through measurable outcomes.

The funding is provided by the Impact Alliance, which consists of foundations, companies, and civil society organizations.

Why an Impact Fund?

The need for reform of the (funding) system goes hand in hand with the need for structural changes at the transition from school to the workforce:

The numbers speak for themselves: They not only highlight the need to rethink labor market integration all the way through to the completion of vocational training. They also underscore that it is essential to link the allocation of funding to outcome-based criteria in the future.

The goal of the system overhaul: to allocate financial resources to stakeholders exclusively on an impact-based basis, so that young people are supported efficiently, quickly, and sustainably in moving out of the transition system’s waiting period and toward a vocational qualification. This is the only way to effectively address the shortage of skilled workers.

What Sets the Impact Fund Apart

Premium and impact partners are already supporting JOBLINGE through donations, volunteering and mentoring, making a significant contribution to the success of the JOBLINGE program.

The Impact Alliance, together with the Impact Fund, takes a new approach: It is a new financial instrument designed to transform the challenges of the transition system into opportunities on a large scale. In this way, the Fund combines existing commitments with an impact-driven financing model that enables growth and systemic change.

Our vision is clear: By 2030, we want to support 100,000 young people through our programs.

Growth is the key word here: The Impact Fund serves as a blueprint to demonstrate that outcome-based financing during the transition from school to work leads to sustainable and scalable success.

This provides the clear and necessary evidence of effectiveness needed to bring about widespread, long-term changes in public financing and funding policies—beyond the year 2030.
